Moda Center (formerly the Rose Garden, which everyone agrees was a better name) is cozy by NBA standards, but that’s part of its charm. Portland fans are fiercely loyal, showing up even when the team’s circling the lottery drain. The building doesn’t have the glitz of LA or the history of Boston, but it has personality—and a constant smell of craft beer and artisanal snacks that scream Portland. When Dame was dropping logo threes, Moda was a madhouse. Now, it’s a little quieter, but it still feels like a real-deal basketball town’s heartbeat.
